Where to shop in South Beach Miami ? ….Alchemist.  Rick Owens and other fabulous high end brands.

I’ve been to Miami three times this year and each time I searched for this store.  I finally found it back in October.  You have to go all the way to the very beginning of Lincoln Rd Mall and go up 5 flights to find this fantastic store.  They carry my favorite brand Rick Owens as well as some other high end dark lines.  Its worth going up the the 5th floor just for the architecture and the view.

Continuing with the pop-up store phenomenon that we seem to be in the midst of,Louis Vuitton has teamed up with Japanese retail brand Seibu (info), in opening a temporary outlet in Seibu’s gigantic Ikebukuro department store in Tokyo  – The Louis Vuitton/ Underground/ goes with a raw and industrial look and is completely different in terms of interior than other Vuitton spaces. LOUIS VUITTON underground is a concept store, and will only be running for a limited period of time

While in PARIS…….You know you just can’t say no………

On my list of boutiques I had to check out was of course my fav designer Rick Owens. I knew about his famous wax figure of himself peeing in his store in Paris. I had to go see that aside from loving his designs (and wearing his that day). It was a small store in the Palais Royale area. There he was, but not peeing. Turns out they put a coat over his gripped hands. Perhaps it offended too many snobby Parisians? It’s an incredible likeness. Very cool. I also wanted to see the famous Gaultier store that the music video with Dragonette.  I visited two Gaultier stores and neither was the right one.  Coolest, hippest shop in Paris………Colette.  They don’t let you take photos but I managed to squeeze a couple in with only one warning from the sales clerk.
