PARIS
LISTEN TO ROSE ROUGE BY ST. GERMAIN
Le Chat Noir in the Moulin Rouge district. We had stopped here for lunch and wine. The previous three hours were spent traipsing through Pere Lachaise Cemetary then we scooted over to take some pics of the exterior of Moulin Rouge. Below is the gorgeous interior of the Moulin Rouge (red windmill) built in 1889 in the Montmarte Red Light district of Paris in the 18th arrondissement. The Can-Can, a seductive dance by the courtesans that worked there evolved into a form of entertainment which became the inception of what we know today as Cabaret.
The show has evolved from the late 1800′s style of frilly, pouffy-dressed, can-can girls to a modern variation of Vegas, meets sexy show, with an ode to the original days. The show contains 4 main scenes with a total of 69 songs and multiple acts of 100 artists performing as show girls, dancers, acrobats, magicians and clowns.

Check out Kong (1 rue du Pont Neuf) for drinks or dinner. It happens to be in a great shopping area. The girls and I sat down for a pricey cocktail at the end of one of our big excursion days at the red lit bar. This is the famous Philippe Stark restaurant that Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City had lunch. Very kitchy, cool. Very Philippe Stark.

This was my third visit to Paris and I made sure I went to Hotel Costes each time. Some of my most listened to music compilations comes from this swanky, hip hotel. I purchased the latest one which is now Volume X put together by Stephane Pompougnac. Listen to Getting Closer or Dream Machine (Downtempo Mix), a couple of my fav songs when I’m in the mood for Parisian chillout ambiance from my Costes compilations. Next to the front entrance of the hotel was a glamourous disco flower shop bursting with roses. As you entered, the scent felt distinctly Paris. Adjacent to the rose shop was the new Costes fragrance boutique. The clean lined red bottle is simply cool. They had about a dozen fragrance variations that you were able to smell through a special nose decanter. The range varied from fresh to delicious to strong and floral. I really liked the fresh scented ones.
Hotel Costes most current CD is volume 12
